Withrow

Emma
Withrow hails from the Chicago land area of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.
She is now a Lone Star girl and has made her home right here in
Houston at the Galleria. She is a member of ISI and PSA and
has won numerous competitions in the Chicago area where she started
skating 15 years ago. She has passed all her requirements
up to and including Freestyle 7 and will be a lifelong skater.
Emma
is a bubbly personality yet instills in herself and her students
the competitive fire which helps them not only become great skaters,
but successes in the field of life.
Emma
has a very distinctive approach to skating which she feels brings
out the best in every skater:
- First, she feels
that a skater must have FUN. "If you love skating like I
do, you can't wait to get out on the ice," Emma states.
She knows that love of the sport is infectious and brings out
the mental state of fearlessness that allows a skater to grow
into their full potential.
- The second aspect
of her coaching style is FUNDAMENTALS. She knows that all
great skaters are great due to having flawless basics. Fundamentally,
sound students grow into the sport quicker, have less problems
with difficult techniques and are consistent winners.
Emma
works with all ages and levels of skaters and feels it is a coach's
duty to work with the parents of young skaters to continually update
the progress, outline a path of growth and work together as a team
to bring out the best in our youth.
She
is presently awaiting word on her admission status to either Rice
University or the University of Houston where she has a Sigma Cum
Laudi grade point average in the field of psychology.
